EARLY INTERVENTION/EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR 
Classification: Administrative Range 17 - 260 day calendar

Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Exempt Employee


POSITION OVERVIEW

This position supports an ever-growing state-developed and governed early childhood program that offers specialized services to our youngest learners. You will be part of a unique team of administrators who supervise services unlike any others provided through our agency: LBL stand-alone classrooms, LBL classrooms embedded in our constituent districts, collaboration for services within the community preschools, evaluation, and in-home services. As one of the leaders of this program, you will assist in developing new practices to adhere to state and federal expectations, collaborating with staff to develop new programs to improve services, problem- solve the challenges that come with a booming population of our most vulnerable students, and support staff in improving their instructional and collaboration skills.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Valid Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) administrator license is required.
  2. Master’s Degree in education-related field.
  3. Leadership experience at school building, district, regional and/or state levels, preferred.
  4. Successful experience in public education, preferably in early childhood education and administration with specific expertise in assessment & evaluation, consultation and staff development.
  5. Preferred experience leading others in an educational organization and demonstration of the ability to promote/develop individual performance and professional growth in staff.
  6. Experience collaborating with stakeholders, and preparing/presenting reports to these groups in both oral and written formats.
  7. Experience in meeting deadlines within short and long-range planning processes.
  8. Excellent planning and organization skills.
  9. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Supervise and coordinate the delivery of EI/ECSE services to ensure that eligible children within the assigned region receive an appropriate special education program.
  2. Supervise, direct, coach, and evaluate program staff providing services and evaluations, in accordance with LBL policies and procedures.
  3. Assist in facilitating and planning program development and professional development opportunities to align and strengthen practices related to program goals.
  4. Assist in maintaining a climate built on teamwork for effective delivery of services.
  5. Assist in recruitment, screening and hiring of employees.
  6. Assist in coordinating the Local Interagency Coordinating Council (LICC) and participate on other local interagency groups as assigned.
  7. Support program procedures and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding EI/ECSE and LBL policies in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
  8. Collaborate with EI/ECSE Program leaders to meet the needs of the LBL component districts and address any program staffing, organization, or budgetary needs.
  9. Cultivate a work environment where staff have leadership and growth opportunities within the program.
  10. Support agreements with community providers around inclusive practices and assist in the development and maintenance of interagency agreements.
  11. Provide input in the development and management of program budgets.

Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD Administrative salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience
