IMPROVEMENT & ENGAGEMENT COACH (Grow Your Own) - Strategic Partnerships for Student Success
Classification: Administrative-Learned Professional 200 Day

Reports to: Director of Strategic Partnerships for Student Success

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position supports districts in strengthening instructional systems, educator development, and regional workforce pathways to improve student outcomes and educator retention. The Improvement, Engagement & Educator Coach collaborates with district leaders, school administrators, mentor leaders, classroom teachers, higher education partners, and community stakeholders to advance coherent systems that promote student achievement, social-emotional development, teacher retention, and development of the educator workforce.
This role integrates district and school improvement coaching, instructional mentoring, and Grow Your Own (GYO) pathway development to ensure alignment between leadership priorities, educator support structures, and long-term workforce sustainability. The impact of this work is regional in scope, assisting in the development of equitable services for students and families while strengthening the educator pipeline and professional capacity across districts.


QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelors and/or Masters in a field of education or other related field.
2. Valid Oregon TSPC license preferred.
3. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a K-12 education system, including experience in a teacher leadership role. Administrative experience preferred.
4. Experience planning and implementing Grow Your Own or educator development initiatives preferred.
5. Experience in delivering professional development, facilitating team discussions, and providing training opportunities to individuals and large groups.
6. Extensive knowledge of best practices for implementing a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to meet students’ academic and social and emotional needs.
7. Knowledge of current research in mental and behavioral health. Knowledge and successful implementation of Social Emotional Behavioral practices and systems is preferred.
8. Strong familiarity with Trauma-informed and Restorative instructional practices that promote supportive learning environments and build social and emotional skills is preferred.
9. Applicants must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
10. Highly competent in facilitation and presentation skills with experience in a variety of educational and community settings.
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

10. Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
11. Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.
12. Conduct oneself in accordance with the Standards for Competent and Ethical Performance of Oregon Educators.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This is not necessarily an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, and duties associated with this position. The supervisor of this position may modify this list at any time it’s deemed necessary.
1. Consult with and coach School Leadership Teams to identify priorities, develop action plans, and support monitoring progress as they work to make continuous improvement part of their culture.
2. Be responsive to and collaborate with school leaders and staff to respond to the identified needs and priorities to then create personalized training, support, or solutions.
3. Design and lead ongoing professional learning opportunities to improve student’s academic and social, emotional and behavioral progress.
4. Create networking opportunities for school leaders to have regular collaboration opportunities with other leaders in schools with similar demographics and structures to support the ongoing implementation of instructional and social, emotional and behavioral programs and practices.
5. Provide implementation support and technical assistance for existing and/or new instructional and social, emotional, and behavioral programs and practices in schools as well as supporting adaptations to these practices to implement in a variety of learning environments.
6. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of new teacher mentoring programs by coaching mentor leaders, school-level mentors, and classroom teachers, and by providing instructional coaching and customized follow-up support, including direct mentoring assistance in districts without established mentoring structures.
7. Plan, implement, and direct a comprehensive Grow Your Own (GYO) pathway system to strengthen the licensed educator workforce within the ESD region, with focus on critical shortage areas and underrepresented groups.
8. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with districts, higher education institutions, the Oregon Department of Education, and partner agencies to support development and sustainability of the educator workforce.
9. Disseminate the latest research and trends related to evidence-based or field-tested practices and programs for instructional and social, emotional and behavioral practices including easy-to-implement strategies to share with classroom teachers and staff.
10. Collaborate with districts and ESD staff to research and pursue grant and funding opportunities in support of educator development and coaching/mentoring initiatives, and maintain grant reporting frameworks to ensure compliance.
11. Create cooperative and harmonious relationships with districts, co-workers and supervisors.

Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD Administrative salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience
